1941: The Beginning

Coach was founded in 1941 as a family-run leather goods company under the name Gail Manufacturing Company. In the heart of New York City, a small team of artisans handcrafted wallets and billfolds using traditional techniques.

The turning point came when Miles Cahn, a leather expert, joined the company. Inspired by the softness a
